What Licensing and Insurance Actually Cover

Licensing verifies that someone met a state or county threshold of training and testing. It does not tell you whether a business carries general liability coverage, nor whether its crew is covered by workers' compensation.

Ask for a certificate of insurance naming the coverage period, and verify license status through your state or county authority rather than a printed card. These checks take minutes and are the same ones a commercial client would run.
